Sustainable Leather Foundation (SLF) is an industry led, consumer focused organisation whose mission is to support the global leather industry to learn, to improve and to protect for future generations. This is structured through their People ~ Planet ~ Profit framework. The SLF see Environmental, Social and Economic responsibility as essential components to achieving a sustainable industry. Crest Leather have been awarded the Gold Standard by the SLF.

The Leather Working Group develops and maintains protocols that assess the environmental compliance and performance capabilities of leather manufacturers. Their work looks to directly address eight of the Sustainable Development Goals set out by the UN. Crest Leather have been awarded a Gold medal by the Leather Working Group.

The Distretto Veneto della Pelle "Veneto District of Leather" is officially recognized by the Veneto Region as representing the Veneto tanning sector. Veneto Leather District is a circular economy using raw cowhides from the food industry, to create high quality leather products and recover post-tanning residues to generate other products such as fertilisers.

These include; enhancement of environmental performance, fulfilment of compliance obligations and achievement of environmental objectives. Crest Leather have held the ISO 4001 certification since 2023.

ISO 9001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Blue Angel eco-label for low-emission upholstery leather signals to the consumer that leathers bearing the Blue Angel have been manufactured with the aim of minimizing their impact on health and environment during manufacture.
