Shelly has been a well loved product range at Crest for over 25 years. These vibrant range of colours have been produced with a pigmented topcoat and embossed with an attractive grain print to enhance its character.
Providing outstanding durability and stain resistance, this multipurpose leather is suitable for all types of upholstery and environments – including heavy footfall areas.

The Shelly range offers an extensive selection of over 80 colours, catering to a wide range of preferences and projects, whether it’s furniture upholstery, fashion, or accessories.
Characteristics of Shelly:
When it comes to leather, the raw material plays a crucial role in determining its quality and characteristics. In this case, our Shelly range originates from European bovines which are known for their premium quality hides.
By utilising the widely used and sustainable method of chrome tanning, the hides undergo a robust process that result in durable and supple leather. With an average size of 5 SQMT / 54 SQFT with a thickness ranging from 0.9 to 1.1 millimetres, so the range comes in sizes sufficient for large seating applications. The pigmentated finish provides a very consistent finish as well as adding a layer of protection against everyday wear and tear.
Crib 5 Compliant:
The Shelly range also adheres to Crib 5 (also known as “Ignition Source 5” or “BS 5852 Crib 5). Crib 5 is a standard test used in the UK to assess the fire resistance of upholstered furniture. This test is particularly relevant for furniture used in environments such as hotels, hospitals, and other public spaces where higher fire safety standards are required.
